About Tenaker Pet Care

Denver Dog Kennel

Tenaker Pet Care has recently been added to making us a state-of-the-art facility that boasts over 20,000 square feet of luxurious amenities, making it a dog lover's paradise. Tenaker is a fully enclosed, climate controlled boarding facility that can house up to 200 dogs and 20 cats at any given time. On average, Tenaker boards more than 22,000 pets annually. Tenaker also furnishes 6,500 square feet of play yards which includes a large heated pool equipped with its own waterfall, a grass area for dogs to lounge in, and toys galore.

24/7 Access
Tenaker offers a unique 24/7 access area that allows clients to have entrance to the facility to either pick-up or drop-off their dogs anytime in their own code protected suite.

New Veterinary Hospital
Tenaker also vaunts a brand new, avant-garde, 3,000 square foot animal hospital that provides dogs with advanced care in life stage health. Tenakers' animal hospital is staffed with three Veterinarians and five Veterinary Technicians. Many municipalities have allocated Tenaker Pet Care as their primary facility to care for animal control dogs.

Award Winning Facility
Over the years, Tenaker has received a variety of different awards including the Denver Hot 20 List, The American Boarding Kennel Association, and the Westward Best Kennel of the Year Award. The facility is staffed with an award winning dog trainer, a professional animal groomer and seven certified staff members.

At our Kennel and Veterinary Hospital in Aurora Colorado we offer the finest quality facility and services available for your pet. We maintain the highest standards, codes, and procedures relating to health, safety, and cleanliness at our facility.

Our New Veterinarian - Alexandra Mooney, DVM

Dr. Mooney joins our team all the way from Florida where she grew up riding Hunter/Jumper horses competitively in the Southeast region. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 2007, where she graduated cum laude with a distinction in research. Lexi then moved back to Florida where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida and completed an internship at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital in Snohomish, WA.

Lexi enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, but particularly loves the human/animal bond that develops between an owner and their pet. She is also interested in the evolving role of the veterinary profession economically, politically, and socially.

Dr. Mooney currently lives in Denver, CO with her husband, Barrett and her son, Henry. Her other family members include two dogs, Derby and Belmont, and her horse, Patrick (“Mad About You”), who unfortunately had to stay in Florida. Outside of the clinic, Lexi enjoys riding horses, watching movies, skiing, gardening, cooking, and traveling whenever she gets the chance.
